Video 2 of 2 of the air conditioners and heat pumps at my work. The units in this video consist of 5 Janitrols and 3 Tranes.
Among these is the Trane Executive High-Efficiency Weathertron heat pump that I got requests to make an up-close video of. Upon closer inspection, I found out that Trane was manufactured in January 1988, and I do not think it is operational at the moment.
I can distinguish the two smaller Janitrols as heat pumps because I can see the reversing valves, but the other three have their “guts” concealed in a cabinet at the rear of the unit so I am unable to tell. All 5 Janitrols are from the mid-90s
The two larger Tranes seem
to be straight-cool units. One is from 2002 and one is from 1988.

Check this out. Possibly the WORST 2 story rooftop Air Conditioner setup EVER in the Pheonix/Scottsdale, AZ area!
This is at the 7700 E Indian School Rd area of Scottsdale, AZ.
These are two story rooftops. The Air Conditioners are on these steep pitched rooftops with NO catwalk to stand on while servicing (which is required by code). These are designed so retarded that they have a lower roof level that is at about a 5/12 pitch and they expect you to place your 20+ foot ladder on it and hope it doesn’t slide of as you climb almost 20 feet higher to reach the second story rooftop that is also about a 5/12 pitch!
I can only wonder how the fack this sh*t even left the drafting board and became a reality???
Seriously. Throughout the planning and building of these abortions, NO ONE stepped up and thought this was a BAD and UNSAFE setup???
I am still trying to understand which it is in this area between the builders and city/county officials. Is it Corruption, Incompetance, or BOTH???

As an HVAC tech it was always funny, yet a pain in the , to service an air conditioner that a home owner fabricated a sun shade on top of.
They THINK that the little home made shade will make it more efficient. But in fact once the air is moving it makes NO DIFFERENCE to the incoming air temperature at all, and in fact many times causes air to reflect off of the shade itself and cause it to recirculate back into the coil intake!

PLEASE RATE and tell me what you think.
The Carrier heat pump at the nursing home where one of my classes takes place. The class does not have to do with nursing, it is just held in the basement of the building. The heat pump in the video is responsible for heating and cooling the basement and laundry room.
UPDATE: I have recently found out that this a straight-cool A/C unit with what is basically an electric furnace.

This is a Trane “Clean Effects” Electronic Air Cleaner. This HVAC company who clearly doesn’t believe in “Do the job right, or don’t do it at all” has done it again! This time they sold the customer a Trane Clean Effects with their new HVAC system. One problem though… you can’t get part of the filter out to clean it!!!
