Should I do Marine Corp?

ok so im 16 years old and im about to be 17 and I have been considering the Marine Corps. I have wanted to be a marine for about 3 years now I eat healty, I in the best condition I can be in physically and im pretty sure I can handle the mental aspect of the Marines because im not easily rattled and I keep my bearing in alot of high stress situations, where others panic is normally where I succeed. I am the deputy wing commander at my school Air Force ROTC program, I love drill team, and I have many mlitary vets in my family but as of lately I have been thinking about switching military branches. I have a gf who I have been with for about 2 years and we want to be able to see each other as much as possible. But I honestly think the Marines are my first love. I love everything they stand for but I want to see her as much as I can and now im feeling a bit nervous about signing when I turn 17. Should I stay with my first decision ( USMC ), go to another branch, or choose another career. Also what are other branches of the military like??

Can you imagine not joining the USMC because of a GF? How silly will you look and feel in a few years when she is a thing of the past?

Only you can decide what to join. If you have all these doubts and concerns about the USMC then don’t join them.

It’s always funny to read how people claim they are destined to be Marines, or they have always wanted to be Marines, or how the Marines are their first love, but then they add drama to the mix and this gets them thinking.

I guess you really never wanted to be a Marine if you’re gonna let things get in your way.

Should I join the US Marines Reserves or Air Force Reserves?

I tried joining the Marines active but got denied at MEPS for a medical condition they told me to get it corrected with surgery and I could come back to join. In the mean time I started going back to college and have decided to go reserves with the possibility of maybe becoming an officer when I get my bachelors. So I could go 0300 Marines Reserves, have fun, get good training, meet cool guys and just be a Marine but I have two really good friends that want me to go Air Force reserves with them. It would be cool to be with them but im not cut out for the special forces or whatever they call it, I cant sit behind a desk, and security forces seems alright but Ive heard you could get stuck with long days guarding a door or jet. dont feel like being a military glorified security guard if thats what they do. the videos say their cops/dog handlers though. so what is it. I think im gonna stick with the USMC but I figured id listen to what other people have to say. please no stupid people with their b.s. dont join get a real job its a waste

I think you already know the answer

I Wanna Join The Military.?

alright so im still in high school and deciding which work force is right for me. ive been wanting to pursue in a career involving the US military somehow. problem is, i have major breathing issues, worse then asthma. is there anyway to be involved into the career without having my medical conditions hold me back? to be honest i wanna have a job involving the medical field, and recruiting after attending college of course. i just don’t understand how anything works since the army, marines, navy, and air force web pages are to hard to follow. any ideas if its possible?
okay well i dont wanna be in the combat zone, i dont wanna be running long distances i know i cant do them. i wanna be a person in the hospitals helping the wounded or even doing psyical therapy for some of the soilders. i dont wanna be the one on the battle field trying to stablize someone after being shot at or anything like that. theres gotta be something.

First Off Soccer chick……….don’t let other people tell you YOU CAN"T Do SOMETHING…..because you can…..i’ve been in your shoes…i wanted to join the military when i got out of HS…but i had a "breathing problem" also….someone told me i couldn’t join because of it….well…here i am almost 5 yrs later…in the AF..as a cop…you can do it too….i had a problem soo bad that that "fast acting inhaeler" was my friend …especially at night…but i was determined to join…so i learned how to control my breathing…how to eventually stop my wheezing and coughing…..i felt so stupid because i bought a E-book off the internet stateing" How to Cure Your Asthma"…and surprisingly it worked………………so i’m telling you if you are determined to join…then find ways to help your situation….and dont listen to these tools telling you You Cant Do Something…thats b.s

common course or specific course?

i want to know which kind of course in M.E i can choose for good placement opportunities? weather i choose common courses like engineering design, production engineering, automobile Eng or i can choose specifically air-condition and refrig, aero, marine? which can give me good chance with higher pay scale? i have interest in design and i did some design software courses like auto cad, pro-e, catia, ansys. which can i select? my TANCET 2009 score is 27.150, so for i didn’t get rank list from anna university.

I think as per your interest you should choose Engineering Design or Automobile Engineering as you has already done AUTO CAD, Pro/ENGINEER, CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) and ANSYS. These courses will be of help to you in these disciplines and in getting a good job in higher position.
