well thats a complicated answer, but Ill see if I can help ya. as far as companies go I dont know which company is got what your looking for but DO NOT go to work somewhere where you punch a clock and get and hourly wage you will never make any money that way. if your any good at all and efficent youll make 2 to 3 times much on Commision than hourly most commissions is between 36 and 40%.
or if you have business skills open your own business. keep your prices in line & pay your self reasonbly

I was interested when you said 72,000.I been an a/c mechanic for the army for about 8 years and I am 608/609, universal(all types) certified. I have many experiences with charging, recovering, recycling, repairing all aspects of a/c. I just would like to know how to follow a good career path outside the military being a technician. I see that you are a successful technician and would like to take some advice for when I discharge out the military. What are some good companys to work at? Thank you

2 clues that says he doesnt have a clue as to what hes doing. 1) saftey glasses. 2) the patch that says ASE on it sorry but ASE doesnt impress me nor does it impress many employers either most require some because of the public’s perception that it does mean something! I have been a Technician for 18 years and have never had an ASE and can run circles around 90% of those who do!

Hes got the good stuff. You dont need a thousand dollar unit simply to check the pressure-although what he has would be nice. You can buy simple AC guages for cars or your home central air unit and check it yourself. You can pick up ones for cars at your local auto parts store-probably 30 to 50 bucks i would guess for a decent set.
But even with the guages unless you know quite a bit about air conditioning you still will probably be lost.
