auto air conditioning not cooling sufficently.?
My car's Air Conditioning is not cooling sufficently. Outside temp is about 70. The low side pressure reads in the blue area of the guage on the can of freon that I am using (from Wal Mart). The accumulator does not form much condensation, but it does feel somewhat cold. (95 Pontiac Bonneville)
Not sure what your question is. The days of you performing your own ac work died out with the model T Ford. Your question is way too vague. What are the readings high and low side? How many ounces do you have in the system and what is the spec? With your little info, It could be moisture in the system, a leak, bad compressor, bad dryer, bad orfice tube, bad or missing ac belt, bad evaporator, wrong amount of oil, wrong amount of freon, bad fuse, an electrical issue, a switch issue, restriction in the system, that outta narrow it down for you. For 20 dollars at any shop you can have a professional check it out
thanks for the thumbs down
I think your problem is using that can from Wal-Mart. Nice idea trying to save a couple of bucks, but your best bet is to go to someone trained and licensed to recharge a/c systems. It may cost you something - several times the price of that Wal-Mart can of refrigerant - but you know it'll be worth it.
At the same time, the mechanic can also inspect the other components in the system to make sure they're okay, too.
