Well this isnt a complaining NA. This one sees you as a pice of and I am absoulutely right about that. Its not illegal in the US to go to home depot by flex copper tubing and make your own AC, its called freedom and while we loss more of it each day this isn’ t something we have lost. But you have very limited understanding of that since you are not from here also as far as US laws, not all US laws apply to all states. So why don’t you go read a book about US laws and state rights.

to the person who built this, if you put a thermostat in front of the fan, how much of a difference does it make from ambient temp? i thinking about building one from a 24 inch fan and a ice chest for my shop i work in, ill have to fan right on me at all times,, will it work that good??

lol, you’re right …
lol, you’re right as far as the ‘big picture/ environmental impact’ , but this is a good idea for someone whose air conditioner bites the dust and they just need a temporary fix to get to sleep. Happened to me last summer, but I never seen this. I was wondering how long the ice would last. I’m guessing maybe a few hours or something depending on the size of the cooler

then to …
(part 2)
then to transmission long wires, then transformers, then motor, then compressor, then Freon that is compressed & cooled by a fan or something, then to a evaporator coil, then another fan is used, then water is pumped & frozen, then taken by a person & put in water then pumped through a copper then a fan blowing, all this to produce a few minutes, of cooler air blowing on some pretentious person sitting on a back porch feeling smug about themselves,
thinking ‘how clever I am’.
I’m sure that the …
I’m sure that the ice water would outweigh the heat from the fan.
I was not really addressing that. But never the less the overall ideal is inefficient. How long do you really think the Ice water would stay cold. And any time you are changing the energy from one thing to another you lose some efficiency.
Here are some but not all,
there is the generation of electricity, (to part 2)
where do you get …
where do you get one?
I think you miss …
I think you miss the general idea. The ice water temperature outweighs the slight heat produced by the fan. Think about it, what would happen if you placed the slightly lukewarm motor and dipped it in icewater? would the motor evaporate the ice and all water? NO. The benefits outweigh the electric motor heat, which is nothing really. Even a fan running in an unoccupied room will basically cool it’s self
