To get to work, I have to drive through a heavy traffic area, that is densely populated with eighteen wheelers that constantly spew copious and profuse amounts of diesel exhaust into the air. Hoping to avoid inhaling such fumes and nanoparticles (the kind that lodge into your brain forever after inhalation), I keep my windows rolled down and set my A/C to recirculate. I realize that the cab of my truck is not hermetically sealed, however, since when I switch back to A/C it causes my ears to pop as though in an airplane, is this an indication that no outside air is penetrating into the interior of my vehicle?
You mean windows "up" obviously. Yes, popping ears denotes that the air flow in the passenger compartment is restricted with the windows up and A/C set to recirculate. It probably isn’t hermetically sealed, there has to be a little air exchange.
From an acute health perspective, the big issue with Diesel exhaust is particulates. By restricting airflow as you are, most of the particulates are likely being filtered out by something called inertial deposition as the air squeezes through small openings. So even though some air is getting into your car (which is a good thing, by the way), a lot of the nastier particulates are not.

mostly interested in Air Conditioning systems ( carrier )
ok, I,m taking a class on hvac, the teacher has given us a schematic, no model number, said it was a common example. We will be tested on voltage drops , switch on or off ? component working or not ? So my question is , what is the best way to break down the schematic , follow each line and convert to a ladder type drawing ? Some of the circuits seem to have mutiple paths depending on whether a certain switch is on or off. Thanks
Follow the lines and identify every component, using the scheme.

with the high cost of energy,$300.00 a month light bills and natural gas prices for the homes in the winter time going through the roof, why shouldn’t people be able to buy solar energy systems at an affordable price.Only the people who can afford to pay the high cost of heating an Air Conditioning can afford solar energy.Who and what is keeping this price of this technology out of the hands of the average person ? Why is the price so high ?If the price was lower more people would buy it and they still could make lots of money because of the large numbers of sales. It would also save a larger value of natural gas for future use in other places.
Well ,sorry to inform you ,but anybody and everybody and his little brother knows that there is no way to hookup utilities to the space station. In this age of people’s exposure to high technology ,I looked for more answers that made sense.People who can afford it have already proven that it can work in homes so that isn’t what I am looking for in an answer. The biggest problem with solar energy is that it is too expensive for the average person to put into their homes. The heart of the question is ,What and who is keeping this technology from being used,The price of energy is sky high and we are useing it up.We need to save on energy/ natural gas and we need to cut down on the use of coal because of polutions.Cannon E and peter J,stop looking at the question as if you think its a stupid Question(its not) people asking Questions is the way all problems are solved.
You Absolutely completely can! The only limiting factor is the amount of energy your house uses. It would take 7 to 10 thousand dollars (which is not a huge expense if your building a home) to make enough power to run an average home.
But if your willing to make a few minor adjustments to your lifestyle, you can be extremely efficient and get buy on just a few 75 watt panels.

Does using the Air Conditioning in my car increase the amount of fuel used? And also, by how much? for example, if it does increase the amount of fuel used, is it a negliable amount? or is it rather significant?
yep..its not that much but it does sum

One June 25, 2009, the Carrier 13 SEER A/C unit was the victim of a nailgun-related mishap. This was a mistake on the part of a roofer, and the unit will more than likely be replaced. This unit is not even a year old, and guess what, my friend’s mom is gonna let me take it apart once the new unit has been installed!
I got a request for it, and here it is; the large-capacity window air-conditioner unit at my friend’s 3,500 square foot home. I have another video on YouTube, which features just the central A/C unit at this same house:
Again, the home is 3,500 square feet and was built in 1969. The second floor has the Carrier central air, and the downstairs has the Sharp window unit featured in this video. The heat is from a gas-fired boiler. Also featured is a video of my friend’s dog.
